SFA biology to host open house

The Stephen F. Austin State University Department of Biology will host an
open house of their invertebrate collection from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday in the
Science Building Room 211.

Those who attend the event will see rare cave-dwelling animals, called
troglobites, from the Edwards Aquifer in Austin, as well as a butterfly and
moth collection from U.S. Forest Service surveys. The freshwater mussel
collection of Robert Howells, retired from Texas Parks and Wildlife, also
will be on display. Insect art by Donna Lamb of Nacogdoches will be
exhibited.
