At SFA, you have a name; not a number
But these numbers speak for themselves.
- 27 - the average class size at SFA
- 20:1 - student to faculty ratio
- 80% - percentage of faculty that hold the highest degree in their field
So what do these numbers mean? The classes at SFA aren't often held in large auditoriums. That means you can get the personal, one-on-one attention from faculty members who are experts in their fields and know you by your name, not your Social Security Number. How can you ask for more?

Research, Creative & Scholarly Activities
SFA offers numerous opportunities for research, creative and scholarly activities that expand educational experiences for undergraduate and graduate students.
Faculty across campus are actively involved in federal, state and privately funded research and other extramurally funded projects, and strive to include students at all levels in these activities. Funding for active projects totals more than $40 million.
Each spring, SFA showcases student or faculty research with campus-wide conferences.
